Walls, doors, windows and room names from the existing (2025) and proposed (2026) plans; both planned states show the 2026 layout. Stairs are not modelled; use the floor buttons. Display cases and café tables are illustrative.
Sources and assumptions
- Footprint from the existing roof plan; heights scaled from the existing elevations and sections (Purcell, 1:100, drawing datum). Ground floor 130.480, first floor 135.035, roof level 141.441. Scaled values carry roughly ±0.4 m.
- Main cornice 8.9 m and court ridges 10.9 m above ground floor; front wing parapets 5.8 m; pediment apex about 10.5 m. Ground from EA LiDAR: 0.73 m below ground floor at the foot of the portico steps, 1.1 m below on Northgate Street.
- Portico, steps, bastions, coat of arms, stele cresting, quoins, plinths, window surrounds and niches follow the list description (NGR SU 00142 61690).
- Room names from sections A and B: Crown Court west, Nisi Prius Court east; Grand Jury Room and Records Room in the front wings.
- Walk-through levels scaled off the Purcell sections (±0.1 m): hall soffit 8.0 m with coffers and cornice, lobby 5.0 m, courts 8.0 m with floors sunk about 0.65 m, front wings 4.2–4.6 m, new court floors at first-floor level with 3.8 m soffits below, café about 3.8 m, Bronze Age Gallery 7.55 m. Stair risers are spread evenly over the 4.56 m storey; existing gallery stairs are simplified.
- Extension positions from the 2025 and 2026 plans. Courtyard range and screen heights are estimated from the Design and Access Statements, which give materials but few dimensions. Lifted ridge tiles for bats and the rebuilt chimney are not modelled.
- Setting in British National Grid. Terrain from the EA LiDAR Composite DTM (2 m within 110 m, 8 m beyond). The building is fitted to its OSM footprint, rotated 22.5° from grid east; the portico faces 202°.
- Neighbouring buildings within 150 m from OSM footprints, extruded to LiDAR eaves (25th percentile of nDSM) and hipped to LiDAR ridge (95th percentile), about ±0.5 m. Roof shapes and colours are generic.
- No existing trees are modelled: the LiDAR canopy candidates did not match the street on checking, and the existing site plan shows none on the plot.
- Planned states only: the railings salvaged from the Nisi Prius court reinstated along the ramp walls (DAS p59, p86), the street frontage left open as on the site plans, the two trees in 2 m pits either side of the arrival terrace, an indicative 15 m coach drop-off bay with the footway set back behind it, and a disabled bay on Northgate Street (DAS p66, p73). Lower Wharf, the cobbled lane down the west side, stays open in all states. Positions are approximate.
- Street widths are estimates (carriageway about 7 m, footways about 2 m). Figures are 1.75 m for scale. This is not the architects' model and is not to be relied on for dimensions.
